Stones and More Stones…

Bad Frog’s 2 Dezine Art’s lapidary shop has been very busy lately. Seems many of you are enjoying the beauty of our freeform cabochons and are using them in many of your jewelry creations. I am glad to inform you I am expanding my contacts of suppliers of rough gem stones and I am sure it is no surprise to you the huge variety of beautiful stones found around the world.
I am often asked how I come up with the shapes and designs used in the creation of our free form cabochons. The easiest way to explain is to tell you the rock speaks to me. Now try not to roll your eyes at my suggestion. We all perceive the world around us by the lessons we have learned throughout our lives. What we view and how we view our surroundings is what forms our likes and dislikes. For me, having spent as much time surrounded by the wonders of nature, I see very little in a symmetrical way. Yes, nature has it own symmetry, but for the most part it is a-symmetrical. Thus, when a rock or stone talks to me I see the shapes and designs in an a-symmetrical way. The stone dictates how the lines and curves interact to create a new caboshon. The stone talks to me. Okay, roll you eyes again, I understand!!

Terrific work! This is the type of information that should be shared around the web. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this post higher!
