Custom Orders

Our favorite jewelry making are special orders. We spend the time to craft a unique jewelry piece reflecting the  personality of our customer.

One such customer brought to us her father’s ring. The ring had been a 25th wedding anniversary present which he had worn for forty plus years. It was falling apart when he gave it her. The ring shank was separated from the stone’s setting and cut into two pieces, flattened and soldered to two different pieces of silver. The stone was removed from the setting, old bezel filed down, new bezel shaped and soldered to the original setting.  The refurbished setting was soldered to a third piece of silver. Sterling wire shapes were hammered and soldered to the design. The ruby gemstone was put back in the setting upside down to expose the facets and gold filled wire was wrapped around portions of the silver wire for additional accent. The charm was the finishing touch, which we couldn’t resist since our customer signs all her emails Live, Love, Laugh.

Our goal was to preserve the ring components rather than melt them down. Our customer and her father were elated with the finished pendant and very surprised we had chosen to preserve and use the original components of the ring in the new pendant design.
